Nikki Sue loses 4% of her bodyweight in 4 weeks using the TrimDog Weight Loss System

Nikki Sue has lost 4% of her bodyweight in just 4 weeks using the TrimDog Weight Loss System.
Very impressive considering she is walking only 3 times per week due to her parents hectic work schedule and young children at home. Her success is a product of regular walks with the TrimDog exercise belt and their discipline with the prescribed diet changes. She did not change her brand of food. Instead, a calorie count revealed the bag recommendations were substantially higher than needed to meet her nutritional needs. Looking forward to next months progress as we still have a few pounds to go. Go Nikki!

Dogs lose more weight when they walk with the TrimDog Exercise Belt

Atlantic Animal Hospital and Pet Care Resort Clinical Trial:

After week 8, canines that walked with the TrimDog Exercise Belt lost an average of 4% of bodyweight; canines that walked without the TrimDog Exercise Belt lost an average of 1% of bodyweight. This was a great result for the dogs and for us. We did learn ...the difficulty for some participants to find the time to walk 5 times per week. All participants will now be instructed to use a 3 day per week walking regimen and use the TrimDog Weight Loss nutritional program to further their success. This will also allow pet parents everywhere to see the difference in just increasing exercise and combining diet and exercise to reach your goal faster.

TrimDog Exercise Belt Customer Feedback

I had a nice conversation with one of our clinical trial participants today. In their words, "The TrimDog exercise belt is both innovative and convient." She also brought up a good point about pet parents of short-haired breeds should use the harness adaptor over the collar adaptor to minimize belt movement. This only seems to be the case with short-haired breeds (dachsunds, beagles, etc). Both collar and harness adaptor come standard with each Trimdog exercise belt.
Thanks so much for your feedback Bailey.

Walk Less, Lose More

Introducing our newest success stories, the TrimDog Triplets. Also known as: Carlo, Cristo, and River (from large to small). These lucky dogs were all rescued by a loving nurse named Dina. They could not have asked for a better home. They had everything. Except time to exercise. The life of a nurse is hectic with long hours and rotating shifts. Dina needed to maximize her 3 walks a week to ensure the triplets were getting enough exercise. Her solution came in the form of the TrimDog Weight Belt. A key component of the TrimDog Weight Loss System. The TrimDog Weight Belt safely increases the intensity of each walk so you can walk less, and lose more. The triplets have never looked trimmer or a happier. Thanks Dina for telling us your story on how your dogs became TrimDogs.

Ergonomics of the TrimDog Exercise Belt

This video demonstrates the ergonomic design of the TrimDog exercise belt. It will not alter the dog's normal walking gait or hinder respiration in any way. If the TrimDog exercise belt is applied snuggly around the dog's torso it will not slide during walking. Please note the placement of the belt in reference to the dog's limbs. With proper placement, your dog will pay no attention to the belt and will focus more on the walk itself. Now that you have mastered how to properly apply the TrimDog exercise belt, get outside and starting walking. Using the TrimDog exercise belt will allow your dog to burn more calories per walk and allow you to achieve your weight loss goals that much sooner. Walk Less, Lose More.

Overweight? Not Anymore.

Introducing Fate. A Jack Russell who just finished week 5 using the TrimDog Weight Loss System. She went from 13.4 pounds to 11.2 pounds. Quite an accomplishment. Even more impressive, Fate is blind in both eyes. Here's what her mom, Tonya had to say about her extraordinary progress. "Fate is looking so good. I have tried everything to get her to lose weight. Tried walking more, diet changes, etc. She is finally at her ideal weight. She has her waist line back. She hasn't been this size since she was a pup! Thanks so much."

Clinical Trial Update- 1st Weigh-in

As predicted, all dogs who walked with the TrimDog Weight Belt lost more weight than dogs that walked without it. Dog's not using the TrimDog Weight Belt lost 1% of thier bodyweight on the walking program. Dog's who walked with the TrimDog Weight Belt lost 2% of their bodyweight. Please note that the dog's diets were not altered during this time frame. The current leader is "Copper." He is a bassett hound that has lost 2.5% of his bodyweight after only 4 weeks. Before starting the clinical trial he was already walking 7 days a week for 30 minutes. Just adding the TrimDog Weight Belt to his walks allowed him to overcome his weight loss plateau. Looking forward to the next weigh-in and more lost pounds. We also had one dog named Fate who's owner decided to try the entire TrimDog Weight Loss System and altered her diet in addition to using the TrimDog Weight Belt. The result: Fate went from 13.4pds, to 11.2 in 4 weeks. WoW! Go TrimDogs!

Congratulations Max on trimming down from 42.5 to 40.5 pounds in 6 weeks. That is almost a 5% reduction in bodyweight. To put that in perspective for everyone. If you are a 150 pd person, you would have lost approximately 7.5 pounds to equal Max's progress. Max did all this without changing his diet whatsoever. Max just added the TrimDog Exercise Belt to his normal walking regimen and poof. Another TrimDog success story. Way to go Max!

The TrimDog Weight Belt Clinical Trial has Begun

The 12 week TrimDog Weight Belt clinical trial has begun. Under the supervision of Dr. Michele Rohrer and her staff at Atlantic Animal Hospital, a group of overweight dogs and their parents will partake in a study to document the effectiveness of walking with the TrimDog Weight Belt. The TrimDog Weight Belt is now being used in Canine Physical Therapy

I am very pleased to announce the TrimDog Weight Belt is currently being used as a strength training aid for canine physical therapy. The additional resistance provided by the belt has been incorporated in treadmill walking, underwater treadmill walking, and stair climbing to rebuild lost muscle after catastrophic injuries. Helping those in need is truly one of the greatest joys you can experience. Anna and I are extremely proud that are products cannot only help obese dogs, but many other dogs currently going through physical therapy. We would like to thank physical therapist ,Melissa Bunting, for her incite on how to incorporate the TrimDog Weight Belt into rehabilitation programs safely and effectively.

Clinical Trial Results

TrimDog Exercise Belt Clinical Trial 12/10/2011

A randomized trial comparing the weight loss of canines that walked with and without the TrimDog Exercise Belt.

Atlantic Animal Hospital, Wilmington, NC, 28405
Michele Rohrer, DVM - Chief Investigator

Abstract

Background: Studies have shown that weighted vest walking in humans can increase the metabolic responses over non-weighted walking resulting in greater weight loss.

Methods: 12 canines, aged 2-10 years, classified as overweight by their veterinarian were randomized into 2 groups: canines that walk with the TrimDog Exercise Belt and canines that walk without the TrimDog Exercise Belt. Their owners were instructed to walk 5 times per week for 30 minutes a walk at a brisk pace, for a total of 8 weeks. All participants were instructed to make no changes to their existing diets during this time period. Weigh-ins were conducted at Atlantic Animal Hospital by their staff prior to the start, Week 4, and upon completion. The weight of the TrimDog Exercise Belt is determined by size of the canine. Sizing of each canine is specific to the circumference of the canine through the torso, specifically at the inferior costraphrenic angle of the rib cage. Canines measuring 7-10 inches are considered X-small and the exercise belt weighed a total of 7 ounces, 11-16 inches are considered small and the exercise belt weighed a total of 7 ounces, 17-24 inches are considered medium and the exercise belt weighed a total of 11 ounces, and 25-32 inches are considered a large and the exercise belt weighed a total of 16 ounces.

Results: After week 8, canines that walked with the TrimDog Exercise Belt lost an average of 4% of bodyweight; canines that walked without the TrimDog Exercise Belt lost an average of 1% of bodyweight.

Conclusions: Dogs that walked with the TrimDog Exercise Belt lost more weight than dogs that walked without the TrimDog Exercise Belt.
